Richard Kriesche, Museum of Sculptures „Glaskasten Marl“
Æsthetik des Kapitals – Das erste Kunstwerk einer neuen und das letzte der alten Epoche

In his work, Richard Kriesche utilises the instruments of the current capital market and the wide range of information. With regard to the latter, one of the most popular tools is to a certain extent a kind of world champion – Google, the omnipresent search engine. The second tool is presumably only well known to insiders, although it’s quite popular – the obscure world of the stock market. The name of this software is Teletrader Professional. For Kriesche both tools serve as a resource for his artistical feedback mechanism, which can`t be comprehended with common terms of art anymore. On eight projections information, which usually isn’t mentioned in one breath, is traded and negotiated. The different contents of information are related to each other and challenge the spectator to feed back the sensuous flux of information towards the idea of a changed meaning of art. The roots for Kriesche’s work lie in the release of the capital, with which nowadays the works of living artists are paid for. The relations have got lost. How should a certain form of art, however, whose merit according to traditional terms isn’t affordable, look like under current conditions? The artist tries to answer this very question.
